Safe Again

Thank goodness our smoke alarm beeps to tell us that the battery is running low. Thank goodness the battery is just a back up and the darn thing would go off anyway since it's hard wired. Thank goodness the beeping has a nifty way of happening at 3:00 in the morning.

(here endeth the sarcasm)

Thank goodness for my HUSband who will wake up at 3:19 AM and change out the damned 9 volt battery in the smoke detector.

Seriously, why do those fuckers only start to chirp in the middle of the night? (I've never had to change one in the middle of the afternoon) Or when you are out of 9v batteries for the first time in your life???
